In Chinese we have a phrase "安家立业" (ān jiā lì yè), which means when you grow up, you have to marry, and have kids to carry on the family's bloodline, and after that, you can focus on your career. That must sound very odd to Western culture but wait, don't judge so fast because you won't be better than that in Fate of The Empress. Marrying, having kids, raising them, feeding them, and sending them into battles, are what we all do. This "Parenting 101" guide will teach you how to raise your children and abuse them to serve you in war correctly. */just kidding/*

Note: This is a 101 class, so this is an overview guide with information on how to make them Perfect (And if they don't become doctors or lawyers but instead become gamers who write game guides every day, we disown them. We are Asian parents). Another guide on teenage heirs' skills will be uploaded separately.

I. How to have kids (No. This game is PG, mate)

- Heirs will be unlocked at level 36. - Couples can PRAY for an heir (Yes, I repeat, Pray! This game is PG) when Love Vines reach level 5. Or if you are single, you can adopt one when you reach level 90. - Couples can have a 2nd heir when the 1st one becomes a Teenager. Single players can only have 1 heir.

II. Heirs' phases

- The game's guide about how many phases the heirs will have is very confusing, but there will be 3 main phases: Pray, Infant, and Teenager. II.a Pray Phase - Single Players won't go through this phase as when you adopt the baby, they will be in the Infant phase immediately. However, before that, you will need to send gifts every day to increase appeal before you can take them home. - Couples will go through this phase after they pray for a baby. The baby will be in a heart-shaped "egg" and you have to "hatch" them. Each person can send love every day or spend ingots to fasten the process.

ree

- During this phase, you can spend ingots to change the gender, Zodiac, and Star sign. Or just leave it as it is. Note that even when you spend ingots to increase rates for a certain gender, there's still no guarantee for the final gender. I know someone used to spend to have a girl until 90% of chance, but they got a boy in the end. - Even tho the game guide said Star signs will actually affect the heirs' personalities when they become teenagers and personalities will affect their behaviors but there's no report that what kind of behaviors. And personalities can be changed when increasing Wit. There's also no formula for this so far as many players had the same heirs' Star signs but ended up with different default personalities. - The phase Zodiac will affect the most is the Infant phase, as in how annoying they will be and will determine how badly you want to yeet them.

  • Tiger, Monkey, Rat, and Dragon are often fussy, need a lot of care, and throw tantrums the whole day.

  • Goat and Ox eat a lot, sleep a lot, and are always dirty

  • Snake sleeps the whole day

  • Dog and Rabbit are easy to take care

We will need more information regarding any other aspects and we welcome all feedback.

ree

- After the phase is completed, both parents need to be online to confirm and you can give it a name and go to the next phase. II.b Infant Phase - This is the most annoying phase that you have to come online often to take care of them, but also the cutest phase. You will definitely miss it when they all grow up. - This Infant Phase has 2 small sub-phases: Newborn and Enlightened.

ree

(Me too, mate... Me too...)

- Newborn phase will need 22,000 Growth points to go into the Enlightened phase. The enlightened phase will need 85,000 Growth points to become Teenagers. - When the baby is not feeling well, the Growth point gain will decrease. - During both sub-phases, you will have to take care of them to increase Growth points by playing some minigames to Feed, Bath, Sleep, and Play with them. The frequency of what they need depends on their Zodiac and Star sign, please refer to section "II.a Pray phase" of this guide for more details. In the Enlightened phase, you can teach them some skills too. - After the phase is completed, both parents need to be online to confirm and they will go to the Teenager phase after 24 hours.

II.c Teenager Phase - This is the most fun and also helpful phase to boost your might. The heirs will follow and assist you in many activities in this form for the rest of their life. (Yes parents, we have to be stuck with some teens forever) - Teenager can be deployed in battle, equipped with armor and toys (which serves the same function as same as heroes' treasures), dressed, carried around like pets, taken photos of, and sent to courses to learn more skills and might boost.

ree

(Me and all the kids in the guild)

- Again, even tho the game guide said Star signs will actually affect the heirs' personalities when they become teenagers and personalities will affect their behaviors but there's no report that what kind of behaviors. There's also no formula for this so far as many players had the same heirs' Star signs but ended up with different default personalities. However, personalities can be changed when increasing Wit:

  • Peaceful: mostly occurs when HP + Arts courses are learned

  • Laid-back: mostly occurs when any classes are learned

  • Energetic: occurs when ATK + CRIT lessons are learned

- Heirs' costumes will be shared between both parents. So you and your partner don't need to buy the same ones. - Since 1st day of their teenage life, they already have to go to school (pain). Each course will cost some Care points and you have to give them Bun, Hankerchief, or Rocking Horse to increase their Need bar. If the Need bar reaches 0, they will stop studying (literally me every young day).

III. Teenager Parenting

I have to separate Teenager Phase training into a separate section because this is more complicated. This guide will just give you an overview of information about courses and exams. Another guide that will go into detail about each course, skills will be uploaded later. III.a Courses and Exams - When the new grade is unlocked, the exam countdown will start and you have to train your teenage heirs enough to satisfy the exam's requirement before it starts to guarantee the result. - There will be 3 exam results: Good, Excellent, or Perfect. "Good" will just unlock the next Grade. "Excellent" will unlock the next Grade and reduce all lessons' duration of the next Grade by 30 minutes. "Perfect" will unlock the next Grade, shorten lessons by 60 minutes and even unlock a new extra course. - So this is the confusing part and the game's description doesn't help. Many new players being parents for the 1st time end up with a useless kid who is just "Good" in everything only. Yes, we are Asian parents, "Good" is such a dishonor, later no doctor no lawyer, become gamer some more. So this is what the exam's requirement actually means.

ree

(Example of a poor confused parent. Grade 4 already but "Max-level courses" is still 0)

  • Wits: Obtained from Course. Every lesson from each course will give a number of wits and it will be accumulated. The higher the course level, the more wits will be given.

  • Max-level Courses: This refers to the number of courses you have at the maximum level. Breaking it down, each course will have a different number of levels until they are maxed, and each level will then have a different number of lessons until it levels up.

For example: "Acrobatics" Course in Grade VIII has 10 levels until you can max the course.

ree

What you will need to do is set up all 5 lessons of Acrobatics and you will reach the next level.

ree

Repeat it again and again until you reach level 10, then congratulation, you get 1 "max-level course" to be counted into the exam's requirement.

- Number of levels and lessons is as follows: Grade 1: 6 levels, Grade 2: 8 levels, Grade 3-8: 10 levels Level 1: 1 lesson, Level 2: 2 lessons, Level 3-Max: 5 lessons

So the higher the grade is, the more wits you obtain, however, it will also take more time to max the course.

Note: It's VERY HARD OR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET EXCELLENT/PERFECT WITHOUT USING JADES TO BOOST. To Perfect grades I, II and III, you will need to boost at least twice a day, Grade IV needs 3 times, etc. It will even need more if the previous Grade is lower than "Perfect". And you have to use jades to recruit the highest teacher for all military courses. Anyway, a "Perfect your heir" calculator will be developed separately to count how many times you need to boost in the future. But if you already finish all your grades, well, you can always retake the exams. 20,000 jades, easy game.

IV. Break up/Divorce

- You cannot break up or divorce when the heirs are in the Pray or Infant phases. Must wait until the Teenager phase. - Practice, costumes, and toys will be reset and the items will be sent back to the parent who bought them. Grade will remain the same. IV.a Custody

The process of claiming the heir after breaking up/divorcing can be summarized below.

ree

- First, after a divorce, the heir will be sent to Day Care to wait for custody to be settled. You can still couple with a new partner at this stage. The parent with higher intimacy will be prioritized to claim the heir with just 300 ingots during this stage. After 72h, if the prioritized parent won't claim the heir, it will go to the Custody battle stage.

- The formula to see if you will be prioritized or not is:

  • Intimacy Difference/(Higher Intimacy + 100) > 0.3: the parent with higher intimacy will be prioritized.

  • Intimacy Difference/(Higher Intimacy + 100) < 0.3: enter the Custody Battle stage.

ree

(For example: ((41630-29710)/(41630+100)) = 0.29 < 0.3 => Enter Custody Battle. No Priority)

- During the Custody Battle stage, both parents will throw ingots to try to win the kids. This stage lasts 72 hours. - After Custody Battle, it will go to either

  • Custody Pending: If no parent tries to win Custody Battle. This stage lasts 7 days. During this stage, the 1st parent who pays the fee will win the kid. If no parent tries to win after this stage, the heir will be lost forever.

  • Registry: If there is 1 parent who wins custody, the heir will go to the registry. This stage lasts 7 days. The parent who wins needs to claim the kid in time. A single parent can claim 1 kid, a remarried couple can claim 2 kids. If no one claims the heir after this stage, the heir will be lost forever.

- Finally, after the long way, you only need to confirm to claim the heirs back. IV.b Claiming both 2 kids after breakup/divorce I have to make this section into a whole separated section because this is a so common idea that I see very often: "You can only claim 1 heir back after divorce".

No. This is WRONG. You can claim both 2 heirs at the same time after the breakup if you want and already invest a lot in both of them. Usually, when both are still active, they will agree to have 1 heir for each person. But in the case that the other partner is already inactive forever, there's no reason to abandon 1 heir. During the Day Care/ Custody Battle stage, you can try to win both of them. After that, 2 heirs will be sent to the Registry and stay there for 7 days. Now, you only need to couple again with a new partner to open 2 available heir slots, and you can claim both of them in Registry with the confirmation of the new partner.

I have 3 characters, so 6 kids. Getting Perfect in Grades I-III does not require any boosting. You just have to make sure they are learning the top Wit classes and maxing as you go. You can still be maxing the previous grade's classes even. My very first teen got an Excellent in Grade III originally(because I had no clue what I was doing, though still Perfects in I and II), but the other 5 had all perfects until Grade IV. I didn't start boosting beyond the free boost until my 3rd set of kids and that was still not until Grade VI when the free boost becomes available. I figured Perfects Grade V and beyond would be too expensiv…
