Because we have so many pets and the guide is very long, so it will be split into at least 3 parts. We will hold a free online course about Pets in Fate of The Empress for everyone. Please join our Discord or like our Facebook page to get updated about the class (Link at bottom of this guide).

13. Bunny

Natures:
Tough:
Effect: 20%/30%/50% to give 2/3/4 ally targets immunity from the first dmg of the turn
Grade: SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Why: PUT THIS PET ON. GET THIS PET AND PUT IT ON. DO IT. THIS PET IS VITAL.
No seriously, this pet effect happens BEFORE HEIR SKILLS. That means this bunny’s real use is to block heir nuke (shiny star). The hardest thing to counter in this entire game is those kids hitting for eleventy billion damage and this pet can stop that from happening. USE THIS PET. USE IT. When it works you will see a lil light shine behind your party and a moon symbol will pop up on the heroes it is giving immunity to.
Passives:
Hide: Increase 750/1100/1500 def
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Tear: Increase 15%/22%/30% def
Lick Wound: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg res
Role: PUT IT ON
Minimum Viability: EPIC
Analysis:
USE THIS PET IT CAN BLOCK HEIR NUKE.
Usage/Best Champs:
Anyone: just put it on. Doesn’t matter who. Put it on.
But for real, this would go on support heroes who don’t need a specific pet skill. Think Wu Zetian, Ying Zheng, etc
14. Ginger Cat

Natures:
Brave:
Effect: 18%/24%/30% leech effect added to rage skill.
*Decreases effect with more targets.
Grade: SS
Why: Adding leech to a powerful rage skill can help keep your hero alive, especially if they’re getting punched in the face by ZZ/heir/peacock shields. The heal happens after the attack goes, it seems, which means the hero cannot heal if a broken shield does lethal dmg.
Grumpy:
Effect: 64.8%/86.4%/108% of atk removed from one enemy for two rounds
So if the attacker has 100000 hp and the grumpy cat (+20) owner has 10000 atk and dies 10800 hp is deducted from the attackers hp, giving them 89200 hp for two rounds.
It randomly targets an enemy, the example assumes there is only one enemy attacking.
Grade: B
Why: This is a goofy niche ability and should not be considered outside of goofy niche things like making an atk stacked Daji.
Naughty:
Effect: 50% chance to deal dmg equal to 33.6%/44.8%/56% atk to three random enemies for the first three rounds of combat.
Grade: A
Why: Between other pets like Cubbie and Hydra, Heir nukes/poisons, and hero damage over time effects, you can put out some extra annoying, hard to mitigate dmg using what we like to call ‘chip dmg’. Hit for a little, but do it a lot and do it where it isn’t easily blocked or mitigated.
Passives:
Rip: Increase 750/1100/1500 atk
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Aggression: Increase 8%/12%/16% atk
Claws: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg buff
Role: Offensive/Support
Minimum Viability: FABLED
Analysis:
Kitty cat is interesting because its natures make it viable for different purposes. The leech effect tends to be the best all-around skill due to how much it heals, but there are niche uses for dmg and debuff versions.
Usage/Best Champs:
Daji - grumpy:
Putting grumpycat on Daji can be hilarious because she dies twice in a fight. That means the hp down debuff can be procced twice, allowing for potentially two easy kills for your guard/scholars. This is really the only good usage of grumpycat, imo.
Guards/Scholars - naughty:
This nature is pretty good cause it can go on anyone really. It tends to work better the higher that atk the unit has, and the offensive passives make for kitties to lean towards offensive units.
Non-healers - brave: Scholars and guards really like the leech cat, especially with the prevalence of reflect shields all over the damn place in the meta. This cat goes best on slower, bulkier, high damage units.
15. Shiba Inu

Natures:
Naughty:
Effect: 3.6%/4.8%/6% stacking dmg increase every time 20% hp is lost
Seems like this it actually takes into account remaining hp
This means that you can’t lose 20% hp, then heal, then lose 20% hp again. It only seems to trigger 4 times based on remaining hp
Grade: A
Why: This ability on paper seems great, but it is far too limited (or possibly even broken) to be better than the other two abilities.
Brave:
Effect: 36%/48%/60% chance to release active skill after owner defeats a target.
If used on an MC, they will randomly fire off the active *or* minor skill.
Grade: SSS
Why: I love thi skill so much on MC Alpha Guard. It allows for a full sweep of an enemy team if set up correctly. The guard fires off Sunset Smile, kills at least 2-3 enemies, follows up with Inevitable Fate to take out another, then follows up with Bloody Blade/Predominance to finish the job. It is an absolutely monstrous skill when it procs.
Grumpy:
Effect: 12%/16%/20% def ignore effect added to rage skill
Grade: SSS
Why: Don’t want to worry about variance on proccing, or the requirement that the hero needs to defeat an enemy? Lower atk than you want? Running a scholar with low atk modifiers? Grumpy doggo can help even the playing field. Ignoring a portion of enemy def help get that big dmg through.
Passives:
Wrath: Increase 750/1100/1500 crit
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Aggression: Increase 8%/12%/16% atk
Claws: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg buff
Role: Offensive
Minimum Viability: FABLED
Analysis:
Doggo is hands down the best f2p offensive pet. All the natures range from great to amazing. Very little explanation needed for this guy but choosing who to put him on will take a little thought.
Usage/Best Champs:
Scholars - grumpy:
Grumpy doggo ignores 16% defense on rage skill at +10. This is incredibly powerful for aoe nuke scholars like MC or li bai, especially on crit. This is helping for breaking traditionally annoying tanks like ZZ and..well ZZ.
MC Guard - brave:
48% chance at +10 to follow up a kill with active skill. Similar to the penguin this can get stupid on mc guard when a death occurs. MC rage skill mercs a unit, mc follows up w/ passive and then releases active skill again is an extreme amount of damage.
Scholars/Guards - any:
Rules above apply to any damage dealers. Simple yet effective
16. Vixen

Natures:
Naughty:
Effect: Store dmg taken each round for the first three rounds of combat. The dmg will be applied at the end of the round with 15%/20%/25% dmg reduction applied to it.
Grade: SSS
Why: It makes the hero nigh-unkillable for at least the first round of combat. You’ve most likely run into it and can see how annoying it is.
Passives:
Hide: Increase 750/1100/1500 def
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Tear: Increase 15%/22%/30% def
Lick Wound: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg res
Role: Defensive
Minimum Viability: EPIC
Analysis:
Vixen is the epitome of obnoxious. The shield it puts up is nigh-unbreakable giving pretty much a guaranteed three turns for the user. If used correctly this thing will annoying everyone and keep the user alive long enough to annoy for several rounds.
Usage/Best Champs:
Healers:
Not the greatest choice in the world but will help keep your healer alive long enough to keep your major damage dealers alive long enough to sweep the other team.
Doctors:
Arguably the best usage of vixen is to make you debuffers/crowd controllers unkillable until they can do their rage skill and control the enemy into submission.
Any:
Vixen can go on anyone you want to keep alive, really.
17. Snowman

Natures:
Naughty:
Effect:Stacking 10%/11%/12% dmg buff once per round for the first three rounds of combat.
Grade: SSS
Why: It’s a stacking dmg buff that gives up to 36% dmg buff at +20 by round three. This is a massive dmg boost.
Passives:
Wrath: Increase 750/1100/1500 crit
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Aggression: Increase 8%/12%/16% atk
Claws: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg buff
Role: Offensive
Minimum Viability: FABLED
Analysis:
Stacking damage buff that stacks up to 33% at +10. Snowman increases DMG% while Ferret increases ATK%. Raw damage increase is *usually* better than just an attack increase but with the way this game scales, if you’re going to go toe-to-toe with much higher might teams (say in Peaks or Cascade), Ferret can give you a massive edge to be able to even do damage with.
*Thanks to Not A Snack for pointing this out. I realized I didn’t even have a fabled Ferret so probably wouldn’t have figured out how wrong I was on my own.
Usage/Best Champs:
Scholar/Guards:
Nothing special here, Little Snowman is a simple pet. Put it on a big damage attacker and watch them hit harder and harder. Make sure that hero has ATK stacked.
Li Qhinzao:
Special mention because her passive is a stacking atk buff, which synergizes with Snowman’s dmg buff. Good stuff.
18. Peacock

Natures:
Charming:
Effect: Revive user once per combat upon defeat, recovering 10%/25%/40% hp and gaining a shield of 10%/16%/25% max hp, that deals 30%/50%/100% of atk when broken.
Grade: SSS
Why: Pretty self-explanatory. This thing is top-notch. Resurrects and grants a nasty little shield.
Passives:
Hide: Increase 750/1100/1500 def
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Tear: Increase 15%/22%/30% def
Lick Wound: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg res
Role: Support but like also literally anything
Minimum Viability: EPIC
Analysis:
This freaking thing. What a crazy pet. Packed in this lil guy is a ZZ shield, a Pan An/Wu Zetian immediate action, a Daiochan heal and rez, and a Ji Kang rage increase. Basically anyone can use this pet.
Usage/Best Champs:
Daiochan:
Daiochan dies. Rezzes. Heals. Rezzes if her passive is up. Running a Daiochan/Peacock and ZZ/Penguin combo is a pretty crazy combo.
.Prince Gao:
I mean I hate this guy. He hits so hard but really only to weakened enemies, meaning he has to hit late. But he’s also paperthin. This pet mitigates that weakness by giving the opportunity to burn his rage even if he dies.
Mozi:
Mozi rages, dies, gets rezzed, potentially can rage again. You thought he was scary before take double Mozi rages in one turn potentially and cry. This does require +20 peacock, which you need 8 fabled peacocks for. And also I don’t know if it would 100% fill rage meter so maybe need some other rage thing like a treasure skill. But still this is crazy.
Literally anyone:
This pet goes good on literally anyone. Seriously, it's a great pet.
