Because we have so many pets and the guide is very long, so it will be split into at least 3 parts. We will hold a free online course about Pets in Fate of The Empress for everyone. Please join our Discord or like our Facebook page to get updated about the class (Link at bottom of this guide).

In general, pets are one of the ways you can customize your characters and your gameplay to pull off strategies, memes, and other silly things in "Fate of The Empress". In this quick write up I will go over each pet/nature combo, my personal grade of that pet, and the best heroes for that pet.
1. Raccoon

Natures:
Cautious:
Effect: 9%/12%/15% chance to reflect ATK of enemy active skill
Grade: SSS
Why: Reflecting the attack back of an enemy is really strong. When deciding between cautious and tough it really comes down to whether you want a little more bite from your tank or a slightly higher chance to be completely immune to an attack. I’d just take the one with the higher gift, though.
Tough:
Effect: 9.6%/12.8%/16% chance to be immune to dmg
Grade: SSS
Why: Same deal as the reflect, except this nature sacrifices the barbs for pure mitigation. You will just sometimes take no dmg. This can especially annoy enemy players when they try to land a massive nuke on your hero and they just shrug it off.
Timid:
Effect: 51%/68%/85% chance to decrease DMG dealt by opposite sex
Grade: S
Why: This one is kinda niche but can be used by female heroes to be tankier against the heaviest hitters in the game (outside of female mc guards).
Passives:
Hide: Increase 750/1100/1500 def
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Tear: Increase 15%/22%/30% def
Escaping: Increase 15%/20%/25% eva
Role: Defensive
Minimum Viability: FABLED
Analysis:
Raccoons are an awesome pet. Not only a viable “TrashPanda” nickname wielder, it has one of the best natures in the game! This is a purely defensive pet you want to put on someone who needs to not die, whether to make a tank extra tanky or a squishy hero survive longer.
Usage/Best Champs
Healers - any:
Being able to randomly reflect damage or completely nullify it is a great way to make your healer even more annoying than they probably already are. This is a great staple choice if you don’t know where to put a raccoon.
Zhuang Zhou, Daiochan, Liu Shan, Wang Zhaojun are good options for this strategy.
Doctors - any:
Docs can tend to be pretty squishy, and they provide a very very good level of support to a team in the form of debuffs. Keeping these guys alive should be extremely important and Raccoons can help with that.
Princess Taiping (lower def), Song Yu (strip buffs), Bianque (poison), Lin Daiyu (dmg flowers), Princess Linglong (stun), Daji (silence), Wu Zetian (defense down), Li Bai (buff steal), Ying Zheng (crit rate down)
Guards/Scholars: The only time I’d recommend putting a raccoon on a damage dealer would be if they’re a tanky slow version.
Females/timid: Heaviest hitters outside of female MC’s are all male. Female heroes benefit from timid for that reason alone.
Jia Baoyu - cautious/tough: Since sharing damage counts as being hit, Jia makes great use of immunity/reflect.
*Need to test if he reflects whole atk or just partial.
2. Dwarf Rabbit

Natures:
Cunning:
Effect: 60%/80%/100% chance to stun random enemy for one round when user dies.
Grade: B
Why: Niche as with all the other ‘on death’ abilities. Hilarious on heroes that rez but not strong enough to warrant a pet slot.
Charming:
Effect: 50% chance to decrease enemy atk by 9%/12%/15% for two rounds when hit with a critical. Can happen up to twice per round.
Grade: S
Why: This is a great defensive pet that can make the enemy think twice about attacking. Atk down is an extremely powerful debuff.
Timid:
Effect: 24%/32%/40% chance to be immune to control skills in the first three rounds of combat.
Grade: SS
Why: Control protect is amazing and rare. If you are having issues with heroes getting bonked by much faster Mi Yue’s or Daji’s this might be the pet for you.
Passives:
Hide: Increase 750/1100/1500 def
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Tear: Increase 15%/22%/30% def
Shaking: Increase 20%/30%/40% crit dmg res
Role: Support
Minimum Viability: EPIC
Analysis:
Bunny doesn’t have a whole lot going for it It’s a support pet who can fill an empty pet slot and do a decent decrease atk and that’s about it. Would not suggest fully investing in any nature.
Usage/Best Champs:
Daji - cunning:
Arguably the most memeable pet combo with daji - stun on death then stun on death again. Use this if you have daji and dont have a good other pet choice for her. She has many good options though.
Big damage, Big heals, Big crowd control - Modest:
Another ability I overlooked: Modest grants a % chance to be immune to control abilities for the first three rounds. Again, in a world where Mi Yue and other fast docs dominate the end game and pvp, getting a free Zhuang Zhou rage skill control prevention buff can give you the advantage you need to pull out a win against faster and more accurate docs.
Any - any:
Use this pet on any free slot you have when you don’t have any other pet. The atk down charming bunny is the best one.
3. Ferret

Natures:
Naughty:
Effect: Steal 4.8%/6.4%/8% atk from a random enemy at the beginning of the round for the first three rounds of combat. Stacks three times.
Grade: SSS
Why: Absolutely brutal when it hits the right target. It works especially well against stronger might enemies (think Cascade Manor, Peaks, etc).
Passives:
Wrath: Increase 750/1100/1500 crit
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Aggression: Increase 8%/12%/16% atk
Claws: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg buff
Role: Offensive
Minimum Viability: FABLED
Analysis:
Ferret steals attack. Need I say more? 6.4% at +10, capping at 19.2%. Caps at 24% at +20.
Usage/Best Champs:
Scholar/Guards:
Nothing special here, ferret is super straightforward. Put it on a big damage attacker and watch them attack higher while simultaneously debuffing the atk of an enemy.
4. Panda

Natures:
Naughty:
Effect: 50% chance to steal 60/70/80 agi from attacker when attacked. Can be stacked up to three times.
Grade: S
Why: Stealing 80 agi three times means granting 240 agi to the user. And the best part is it has a better chance of stealing that agi from faster enemies (like a Mi Yue or a Guiguzi or a Daji), making them less of a threat.
Passives:
Hide: Increase 750/1100/1500 def
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Tear: Increase 15%/22%/30% def
Lick Wound: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg res
Role: Tempo Control
Minimum Viability: FABLED
Analysis:
Panda steals agility upon being attacked. This is not only 210 agility stacked at +10 with the attackers losing 70 agility each proc is extremely powerful. I personally hate it but it seems to cause some strong momentum swings. I was wrong as usual and this is a great pet.
Usage/Best Champs:
Scholar/GuardsDoctors:
Basically whoever has the most agility gems on your team should use this pet. *OR* the unit who needs agility and is second or third in line for agility when you're lacking the gems.
5. Phoenie

Natures:
Tough:
Effect: Heals user and hero with lowest hp at the end of the round for 22%/29%/36% lost hp for the first five rounds of combat.
Grade: S
Why: It’s a really really nice pet, but all it really does is heal. Extremely straightforward.
Passives:
Hide: Increase 750/1100/1500 def
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Tear: Increase 15%/22%/30% def
Lick Wound: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg res
Role: Healer
Minimum Viability: EPIC
Analysis:
Heals at the end of round for the first five rounds. This is really powerful on a unit like ZZ or other tanky healers.
Usage/Best Champs:
Healers/Tanks:
Slap this on the highest HP defensive unit you have. This is the best healing pet in the game.
6. Monkey King

Natures:
Naughty:
Effect: Increase dmg taken for all enemies at the start of battle by 3.5%/6%/8.5% and stack up to two more times each time an enemy is defeated.
Caps at 10.5%/18%/25.5% dmg taken.
Grade: SS
Why: It’s nice to have the increased dmg taken debuff on the enemy that grows as you build momentum, but building momentum at that point can just stop a momentum swing from happening. It’s cool and all, but I’d prefer to be able to swing back instead of push forward.
Passives:
Wrath: Increase 750/1100/1500 crit
Bold: Increase 15%/22%/30% hp
Aggression: Increase 8%/12%/16% atk
Claws: Increase 8%/12%/16% dmg buff
Role: Indirect Offensive Support
Minimum Viability: EPIC
Analysis:
For one brief obnoxious moment we all thought this guy was only going to go to the top three players in Peaks in each region. Fortunately, the FOTE Gods decide to rain down upon us a lucky treasure event with this guy as the featured pet. Which is great because I was able to test him and so far it feels like he helps? He throws like coconuts or something at the beginning of combat and each time an enemy is slain, putting an undispellable dmg taken increase debuff on all enemies that stacks up to three times. At level 20, this amounts to 8.5% * 3, which is a whopping 25.5% damage increase debuff on all enemies, making a momentum swing against you much, much harder. It’s extremely oppressive and with someone like a Prince Gao on your team downright nasty.
Usage/Best Champs:
Basically anyone you would use Cubbie with.
The more important thing here is who benefits the most from it.
Mozi, Zhan Zhao, MC Guard, MC Scholar, Prince Gao all benefit greatly from this pet just being on the team, helping them benefit from the effects while running another pet that gives a direct effect!
