So I decided to write this one because the new division will start for the first time to new servers by next weekend and it will be something attached to you for the rest of your life in Fate of The Empress. Your game life can be happy or not is really affected by the fact which servers you are matched with.
Because there are many problems around this so I will make this guide in the format of Q&A.

(An example of a Division Reset announcement)
You can get their announcement in advance from their website too: https://fs.wishgamer.com/en/bulletin/index.html
1. Ehhhh what is division? Sound annoying leh.
Division is a group of servers that will play and compete in cross-server events with each other over a period of 4 weeks. Division will be reset every month, usually on the evening of Friday of the 4th week, and you can be matched with different servers every time. But if your server is new, it will be your neighbor servers.

This is the schedule of a division period. One event starts when the other ends.
2. Then servers are matched based on which standard? Why did I see a very old server matched with a much younger server?
Based on the official announcement of the game, division matching is based on the server's average might and character level. So even if the server is very old, but the average might of the server is low due to many people quitting the game, they will still be matched with younger servers that are very active.
3. Ohhhh. Ok then I will just need to drop my might before the division resets and I will be matched with weaker servers right??
I did ask CS about this. Let me just drop their answer here.

OK, so their answer is that dropping your might won't work. There are also several records that servers dropped their might as soon as the weekend of the 3rd week, but they still ended up being with strong servers. And if you decide to lower your might anytime earlier than 3rd week just for the sake of this, I suggest you just stop upgrading your team and spending, it will be easier.
Ok just kidding, but why that happened? To explain this, there're 2 theories:
Dropping might really doesn't work, as CS said. If anyone sees it works, it's just a coincidence.
Dropping might works, but this is something that has become a common rumor across many servers. So when you try to drop your might, another strong server somewhere there also does the same. And end up the average might of you and them are similar so you are still together, back to the same square.
And even if it really works, it also needs the whole server doing this together, not just a few players. There're also many arguments about the morality and fairness of this practice, so my advice is not to do it. You can try if you want tho.
4. What events will be there when division starts?
When division starts in your server, most of the events will be division-based:
Weekly events: Clan War, Team Competition, Silk Road, Attire Foray. Wondrous, Flower Fete, Pageant will stay local.
Monthly events: Cross-server Arena (Wednesday of the 1st week, last 16 days), Market Battle (Friday of the 3rd week, last 4 days), Cross-server Guild War (Tuesday of the 4th week, last 3 days)
Flash events: Most loved
Heirs' Royal exam
Other period events: Underworld Soul, Handmade Joy
Any special events that happen at the time (Christmas, New Year, Halloween, Valentine, etc.)
5. Man that sounds a lot. We are a new server, what should we do to prepare??? We're gonna deaddddddd.
Division is something that when it starts, it will be with you forever until you quit the game. 95% of your game life in Fate of The Empress will be fighting against other servers, not the other guilds in your server. So my best advice is to consider merging all guilds in your servers into one and settling the counselors' matter before division happens so that the whole server can fight together.
6. But but but, the server will be dead if there's only one guild!
OK I hear some voice in the background already scream this. Trust me it will not.
Instead, it will just make your server more united and stronger than other servers in your division. At the end of the day, there will always be 1 strong guild standing last in the server anyway and you will make many potential strong players quit the game early due to non-stop fighting both outside and inside servers. Records proved that the 1-guild server stays longer and stronger than others. And if you ask any old servers that still have many players now, they all merged very early.
7. Man, there're dramas in my division, what to do?
Listen to me mates, resolve it nicely, or you will regret it one day.
If the drama starts as other players are toxic and bullies, then there's nothing much to do. But if you are the one who is stronger and can defeat others, consider treating them nicely and making good relationships instead. Why? Well, they can become players in your server one day when the merge happens. Many merged servers now are chaotic also because they had issues with each other in the division when they were still separated. Today you can smack their guild, tomorrow they will merge with another strong guild and smack you back.
Advising from actual issues and self-experience.
