2023/02/10 UPDATE: How to make more damage on the Ghost

• Putting more damage dealers in team (Prince Gao, Zhan Zhao, Lyu Bu, Libai, etc) and don't forget your doctor. A 6-star enemy can blow me up in just 1 hit but their HP is not that much and because there're only 5 rounds and if they're stunned for 3 rounds, man I'm just gonna laugh the whole day. Keep the number of healers in your team at minimum.

• All type of damage pets, grumpy Hydra, Flash, Monkey King, Cubbie, Snowman, Ferret, Kitty, Shiba. Oh yea and Bifang if you chose them in Desert Tales.

• Heirs skills: Change to Poison. Yea seriously, change to Poison. I blew them in last round thanks to the poison effectiveness. You can try and see the difference in % of damage you make before and after changing. Thanks SEA-51 Han for the advice.

This is the ghost-hunting event which is even worse than Halloween. It may be very familiar to old servers players in Fate of The Empress but this guide is to help new players who have no idea what it is about.

This event is originally called "Lotus Dream" aka "Lotus Nightmare", which has a much better and more touching love story and character design. If I recall correctly it was about the girl who lost her mind, turned into a witch and caused chaos in Lotus Pond due to the sorrow of having her lover gone forever. Now it turns to, er, what kind of story I also don't understand anymore. Back then, the enemy is the fish monster instead of the ghost, that's why you will see some old players still say "eating" the ghosts as a habit. This is the record of the original Lotus Nightmare ending I still have.

Anyway, enough of random talk, let's get to know your nightmare.

I. Event time

- Happens every 2 months - 10 days to challenge and play, with 3 more days to exchange items - Time to trigger ghost is 8:00 - 26:00 (2AM of the next day) - Rewards are different every event cycle, at least for the rides - Points will be cleared after the event. Equinox Flower to exchange items can be hoarded for next round

II. How to play

- You will have to do daily activities to trigger the ghosts to appear, not like in those stupid "Ghostbusters" shows, entering haunted houses and asking "Hello, anyone here?" (???). Only the dailies that have the tiny ghost symbol next to them can trigger ghosts. You can click the "Explore" button inside the event too (Not the explore activity you do every day). You will have 2 chances for free "Explore" a day (8 hours for 1 time) and can buy 3 more using ingots (20, 50, 100 each time respectively) - Note that ghosts can only be triggered from 8:00 to 26:00 (2AM of the next day). If you keep doing dailies from 2am to 8am, you just waste your chance.

- Ghosts are rated from 1 to 6 stars. The higher star the more points and equinox flowers you will get. You can use 50 ingots to refresh the star. - Once you find the ghost, you can beat it by yourself or click share to ask friends to help. Every challenge will cost you 15 Soul Incense. Soul Incense will refill 1 every 6 minutes, but you can always buy more using ingots (10, 20, 30, 50, 80, 100, and so on. Yes the incense doesn't burn ghosts only but burns your ingots too)

- The might of the ghost will change every time event comes back. It's based on the average might of the whole division you are in at that time. In other words, if your division is full of strong players, you may not be able to clear a 3-star ghost. But if you are in a weaker division, you may tame that 6-star with 1 slap only. - Unlike the usual battle you have with other players, each battle with ghosts has 5 rounds only. That's why sometimes when you see the ghost has the same might as you but you still lose to it. After 5 rounds, if you still can't clear it or the enemy defeats you, your damage will be still recorded and you can ask your friends or keep hitting.

- Each ghost has a time limit before they are gone. For example, if no one defeats it within two hours of you finding it, it will escape and your list will be empty again. - Note that only one ghost from each person appears in your list at a time. If you find a ghost and it is still on your list, when you keep doing dailies and find a new ghost, you cannot trigger any. But you can still have several ghosts stacked from several different players. Anyway, make sure you clear your own ghost 1st before continuing dailies.

III. Points and Rewards

III.a There are 3 reward systems

• Point: Every time you defeat a ghost, you will earn some points. These points will be used to rank players in every division. Each ranking tier will have different rewards too. Usually, 1st-10th will earn a new ride, while 11th to 50th will earn some pendant boxes, that you can open and choose pendants to fuse a ride of your choice. Point will be reset after event. Point of each star:

1 star: 100 pts 2 star: 150 pts 3 star: 300 pts 4 star: 600 pts 5 star: 1500 pts 6 star: 4000 pts

• Equinox Flowers: Every time you defeat a ghost, you will also earn some Equinox Flowers too (which is displayed as "Currency"). It is used to exchange rewards in event shop. Equinox Flowers can be hoarded to next time when event comes back. Note, if you are very new players, the Vigor Pills and Lapis Orb in Rare Upgrade Box and Rare Awaken Box and Soul Crystal Box are most prioritized. Buy all of them before you buy anything else, as you would need many to upgrade your team.

• Purge Reward: There's milestone reward for what you will get when you defeat the target number of ghosts.

III.b How Point and Equinox Flower are calculated

The Point and Equinox Flower are calculated based on the proportion of damage to the ghost. The one who discovers the ghost, the one who makes the last hit, and the highest damage one, will earn extra points and flowers.

For example: Defeating this ghost will earn 1000 points in total. I can only hit 20% of its HP, I share it to friends to call for help. CC comes and hit 10%, Jiodi comes after and take 50% HP, Ren comes last and takes the last 20% HP => I earn 200 points + extra for discovering, CC 100pt, Jiodi 500pt + extra for highest damage, Ren 200pt + extra for last hit

- Whenever someone in your friend list (including CS friends) defeats the enemy, you will earn 1% of Equinox Flowers they get. You don't earn points from that tho. Vow friends earn 1.15%, Lover earns 1.2%. If someone who is both vow friend and lover, the highest buff will be used. In other words, you can only earn 1.2% at maximum.

IV. You ask Linkai answers

1. Halppppp meeeee. I'm done all my dailies already, I don't know how to trigger the ghosts anymore. Looping and fishing is good to trigger ghosts. You can notice the game notification on the left side, if you find a ghost while doing loop or fish, they will notify you. But if you also finish your weekly loop already, another way is catching pets or opening treasure maps. 2. Which ghost should I share/hit/refresh? This depends on the ghost might, which will change every time event comes back so I can't give clear data. - The enemy that is too higher might than you => Share with people who are stronger regarding the might. But actually, if you look at the points based on star in above section, you will see that if you can clear a 6-star in 2 hits, you will earn 4000 points, which is still better than clearing 2 5-star and earn only 1500 points each time. - The enemy that is too lower might than you => Share to people who are lower might than you. Or if you have ingots (50 ingots each time), you can refresh to change the star, just remember it can become a lower star too. One time I got a 4 star, I refreshed and it became 2 star, I refreshed again and it went down to 1 star, I did one more time and it came back to 4 star and I just ate that sh*t I'm tired. 3. How many people should I share the ghost with? The point and Equinox Flowers will be split out to all who hit the ghost, so it's not worth sharing with many people. 1 or 2 only. 4. Who should I share the ghost with? Please ask in guild chat, server chat, division chat to see if anyone wants and can defeat the ghost by themselves, then share to that person. Note: You must be a guildmate or friend with the person to share ghosts with them. 5. If I see stronger ghost, should I hit once and invite others or should I not hit and give all to them? Depends on you and the one you ask for help. If you hit you get points too but they will earn less and cost their Soul Incense and some people may take that as rude too. So should let them know in advance that you already hit. Please communicate with each other. 6. WTH I saw people got so many points, like, how the hell and where did they find so many ghosts to hit??? Camping on division chat to snatch all the good ghosts is what people usually do. However, the more common and effective method (also super tiring) is having a lot of dummy/alt/clone accounts, which you can use to find the ghosts for yourself and burn those accounts' ingots to refresh until you have the star you want without breaking your heart.

7. There is nothing here. Just 7 is my lucky number.
